My 2012 Honda Accord won't start, electrical/wiring issue?
This car was FINE all day. I've had it a couple years, no problems like this. I went to work, fine. On my way home, twice when I flicked on my bright lights the radio, dash, AC, all lights went off for a second, then came back on. I thought it was weird but it wasn't doing anything else so I just drove on. I got home and parked it, shut it off and when the interior lights did not come on when I removed the key I knew something was wrong. I tried to restart it, nothing. No turning over, no click, nothing. A few small lights on the dash would come on but nothing else. I tried again, nothing. An hour later my husband came out to look at it. Now, the interior lights are coming on when you open the door, but very dim. The dash lights will come on, but dim, and if you hit the brake they go off. Also, my GPS, which always goes off when external power is lost, did not go off like normal after my husband tried to start it. (I don't know if this is related but it seems too coincidental for it to go screwy on the same day) Anyone have any idea what the heck is going on?
Added (1). *Edit* The battery has been checked recently AND all terminals cleaned. Honda dealership looked it over bumper to bumper less than two weeks ago.
The first place to start is the battery. Check the battery and clean the battery terminals. If the battery is dead or weak, the battery may be bad or you could have a bad alternator, etc.
How to Check a Car Battery
https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-to-check-a-car-battery
First You Have a BAD electrical Problem or it's a simple one. First Have your Alternator and Battery Checked First thing. You can go to an Auto zone and Have it done for free. If Not Call a Mechanic and Let them Check it out. The reason I say this is because you don't know or Have a clue. So Please have a Mechanic check it out…
The battery sounds dead from the alternator not charging. When the battery voltage drops all things normal electrically, get whacky.
Hi yes simple when was the car's battery renewed some last 5 years from the date of purchase. So maybe time to get it checked.
Junk it. Cut your losses and drown your sorrows.
- My 2012 Honda CBR250 motorcycle won't start. Video link included? So I previously posted this question but lacked sufficient information, so I'm reposting with a video link depicting the sound the bike is making. At first I thought the battery was dead, so I go a new battery, and the bike still won't start. It has 250 miles on it but hasn't been ridden in about 9 months. I took the side panels off to see if there was anything obstructing air intake, nothing observed. All suggestions are welcome.
- My 1983 Honda nighthawk 650 won't start with the electric start? I recently replaced the ignition coils because the old ones were getting heat soaked and the bike would die, however now the bike won't start with the electric start it turns over fin and the starter sounds fine but it won't start occasionally it ll start when it's cold or try to but I've been having to bump start it in order to ride it. So what's making it do this? Could it be the kill switch? Or something else?
- I have a Honda HRX217 push mower. Backfired when trying to start it, now it won't start? It was running, then I shut it off to open and close a gate, and when I went to start it again there was a really loud backfire and now it won't start. It will sound like it's almost about to start but not. Then get progressively weaker each pull. I changed the spark plug and cleaned the air filter. Any ideas?
- I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect? I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect. I did a compressin test, the pull start only gets the mower to 60psi but the drill gets the mower to 150psi. This mower does have a decompression vale where the ehaust opest about 1/8 of the way. I tore the ead off and checked and cleaned the valves. They don't stick open. Could there be an issue with the decompression valve? Or would it be the piston rings?
