My 93 honda accord ex makes a screeching noise when i turn the car on and when i do right or left turns how do i fix that?

Its been doing that noise for a year now it gets very annoying i don't know if it has to do with the power steering or i need to replace something because i tried to spray the belt it kinda helped but not so much noise came back so any recommendations?

Have you tried adjusting the belt tension? Actually looked at the belt to check its condition? Made an attempt to locate the source of the noise?

The power steering belt is probably loose. Since it's been doing it so long, it would be better to replace than try to tighten it.

Check the power steering belt and pump/pulley.

Hell, if it's been a year, keep driving it until a big part falls off, then you will know what was wrong.

Don't spray anything on the belts. The belt is loose. Tightening it can stop the screeching. Rubber shrinks as it heats up and that's why the screech comes while it's all cold. Replace the belt to be thorough.

I would spray that stuff in my ears to see if that stops the noise. Should work. All spray in a can things work.

The belt is either worn or loose. Personally I'd replace it, and while you're at it make sure any tensioner is free and doing its job.

It sounds like a defective fan belt… Possibly power steering belt.

Put a belt on the car

Sounds like your power steering fluid is low. Top it up. Alternatively, check belt tension. Tighten it to the correct tension and add graphite powder to lube it, not liquid sprays (which attract dirt and dust)
