Should I buy a 2003 Honda Accord with a swapped engine?
Saw an ad on craigslist about a 2003 Honda Accord for about $2950. I was interested so I went and saw it. The car has 247,000 miles on it but the broker tells me the engine has been replaced and the new engine has 75K miles on it. Sounds fishy or is it just me? Plus the intake tube was wrapped in plastic and passenger side mirror doesnot work. I'm not the biggest car person but I really like this car and it drives nice. What do you guys think? Should I get it or no?
Ask then to show you receipts regarding the engine swap. If they can't, walk away.
Far to many miles - are you willing to risk that he knew what he was doing when he changed the engine
Make sure it's the same engine. Not the Japanese equivalent. If it's a different engine, then walk away.
If it runs and drives well, that's not so bad. If there are no receipts for the engine, the price is a tad high. Maybe get someone to look at it for you.
They are asking too much. Modifications can become a potential liability. I would pass. Accords are cheap and plentiful.

- 96 Civic EX with B18B1 swapped engine ECU error? Just bought a 96 Honda Civic with a swapped B18B1 engine. With no check engine light on, took it to a California smog shop to get it tested, it couldn t be read. Car turns on and drives good, has no check engine light on and can't be tested. I'm not sure what to check for as far as the harness is concerned, which I'm assuming is where the problem is. Any info, tips or links that could help me troubleshoot this problem would be appreciated.
