Tail lights working, brake lights not.Honda Accord?
I have a 2001 Honda Accord. The Tail lights are working fine but they do not intensify when I apply the brakes. I changed the bulbs and the third brake light, the one in the rear window, is working fine. Any ideas?
Get on top of that Honda right now and squat! Lay some poopie splats all over that car and slide down it throw turtle food at the windows
There's a splice behind the rear seat where the wires to the side brake lights and the center one are joined together. It goes bad a lot. You really need to spring for a $15 multimeter to track stuff like this down.
Get wiring diagram and start testing for where the open circuit is. Are you sure you put the correct bulbs in the sockets? Usually the left and right brake lights work on that year vehicle if the third brake light works unless the bulbs or sockets are bad.
You need to trace the wire from each bulb holder. The UK version, the wires pass down the right hand side of the car. As suggested invest in a multi meter to give you a chance of finding the fault. Or contact an auto electrician which should not charge to much to resolve the issue
There should be two filaments in the bulbs. One is for the brakes and the other is for the running lights. Check the bulbs again. I just replaced mine. One of the replacement bulbs was bad.
- My Honda Prelude 2000 tail lights from the brakes don't work? They only work when I turn on the highlights and the highlights can't go down. I search and it doesn't have no switch for brakes. I look in the fuses and bulds too. How can I fixed this? And thanks who ever answer my question
- Tail and dash lights not working honda civic 2001? Just replaced a fuse as my tail and dash lights were out on Honda Civic 2001. This solved the issue, worked fine on next journey, back home, out a short time later and lights weren't again. Any help with this please? Can't be replacing a fuse after her trip!
