Taking my car into the shop for the first time (my first car and first time at a shop)?

Recently acquired a 1999 Honda Accord for $1500 with only 160k. Runs great but my dad checked car and said oil is low and then proceeded to check the rest of the car and said all my fluids need to be replaced.

What does that mean and what is the price for fixing this? I want to go to the shop with some sort of understanding of the prices so I know if I'm being ripped off or not.

$350, and they will fix the oil leak

  • Clunk every time I shift into reverse? I have a 2003 Acura RSX w/ 135000 miles. Every time I shift into reverse I hear a loud clunk I sometimes hear it but more faintly when it shifts to 2nd gear. The transmission shifts smoothly and I don't hear and grinding or any other abnormal sounds besides that clunk. What could the issue be? BTW honda/acura vehicles don't have ujoints since iv'e been told before it might be that.
  • Honda replaced my serpentine belt but my car is now taking longer to crank? Honda recently replaced my serpentine belt (2012 Honda Civic, 185k miles). I noticed that on cold starts, the car takes longer to crank and then eventually starts. Sounds like it doesn't want to start but then does. I will take it to Honda but I'm just curious what this is likely caused by? Loose belt? Tight belt? Pulley issue? No noticeable squealing, just the crank time. Instead of the usual 1-3 seconds, now my car takes about 3-5.
  • My car has been taking a little bit longer to start I bought a Honda Civic from car max a few months ago and when I turn the key it starts after a second but when I haven't drove it all day it'll take a few more seconds to start. Like it use to be just "jujuju" but now it like 7 or 8. I don't know anything about cars but I was to fix the problem now before it gets worse.
