Why is my car smoking under the hood?
My i just changed the radiator, thermometer, and my car started smoking under the hood. The temperature didn't read hot or anything so i'm wondering what could be wrong. Its a 2000 Honda accorded if that matter.
The residual coolant that is on the hot parts of the engine are burning off you can only hope.
Is it white smoke? If it is white, then it is probably leaking on the exhaust or something hot causing the smoke. Check all the hose clamps to make sure you put the clamps on and make sure the hoses aren t damaged. I would then start the car and see where the smoke is coming from. Also check your thermostat housing to make sure there are no leaks there.

- My honda 2001 honda 400ex started smoking and lost alot of power? It smokes pretty badly like a 2 stroke and doesn't have power like it used to. Could it just be the head gasket it does have a litte oil around it? Or could it be more serious valves and rings?
- Why is my motorcycle smoking? I recently bought a 1988 Honda shadow vt800c and now after long rides a small amount of what appears to be white smoke comes from the exhaust pipe. If I turn the bike off for a minute then back on it stops. Could this be from a coolant leak? It is low but I hadn t been monitoring it closely. Also we got gas all over the bike while fixing a fuel hose but washed it pretty well with a hose. Could it be leftover fuel or something?
- What damage is possible from a construction cone riding under the front portion under the car? I was traveling doing about 55 mph and could not swerve to avoid hitting a construction cone. It hit under my car and dragged until I could pull over and pry it loose. I could not see too well under the car. I have a Honda Fit
