Will my car make this short road trip?
Hi, I don't know much about cars, and was wondering if my 2005 Honda Accord is safe to take on a 50 mile road trip.
I've got 200,000 + miles on it, and batteries been dead and changed before, as for oil and such and such.
Sorry if this is very vague, I'm not very car-savvy.
Do it YOLO
Have your mechanic check it over if you think there might be something wrong with it. If there isn't you can probably go 500 miles without worry, much less 50, that's nothing. My son commutes further than that on his way to work - just one way.
Any healthy car could easily make that trip. This is my commute daily! Anyway to be certain you should have your car checked out by a mechanic to make sure you don't break down or something. Since you aren't sure what's been done to your car it's better to be safe
It's ok> Just to be safe once in a year have a mechinc check out the car.
Any thing mechanical can fail at anytime. I have a car with less than 20,000 miles on it, would it make a 50 mile trip. Let you know when I get back. If your car is in decent condition and you have as much as possible checked, it runs good now, then your chances are very good it will make the trip. But as I said, any car, new or old can break down at any time.
That's hardly a road trip. For some people, that's a day's commute. If you want peace of mind, get a AAA membership.
As long as the car is basically sound and running 50 miles is a very small trip.
I do not even think of 50miles being a trip.
I worked with a guy who drove 250 miles each way to work each day. His car was coming up to 300000 miles.
This is were how you maintain your car comes in. You should do fine. But you should do a inspection of it first.
I can't see your car and have no idea. A mechanic does a bunch of checks with his eyeballs… So stop being cheap. Find one that is good and have him check. He can give you an educated guess of whether it will go 50 or not. If you drag race, all bets are off.
- Honda Nighthawk road trip? About to take my first big motorcycle road trip. Going from Kansas to Texas on my 1992 Honda nighthawk 750. My question is if the bike that old will make it there and back without much trouble and if they make saddle bags and windscreens etc that fit that type of bike? Any pointers would help thanks!
- Are off road motorcycle helmets legal on road in Australia? I was hoping to purchase a Fox racing V4 helmet for a honda crf250l which I'm planning on using mostly for on road communting. I'm new to motorcycles in general and could not find any useful information regarding legal use of off road helmets in Australia (NSW).
- Is the 2013 Honda Fit with over 50k miles on its clock still good enough for a road trip I'm going to use it for a 150-mile travel to another city. Is the car still reliable enough to do the job?
- Is the 2013 Honda Fit okay for a road trip? I'm going on a road trip and I'm going to use my 2013 Honda Fit on this 150-mile trip and this is the first time I'm gonna use this car on a long road trip. It uses a 1.3 L engine. My friend said that its engine will over heat. Although my car still runs like new and never had any major or minor issues… Is it okay?
