After getting my car serviced at the local honda dealership I'm noticing a popping every time I make a sharp turn
A google search tells me its a Cv joint failure. I just paid for a full diagnosis and then $1300 for rear brakes and a compliance bearing. How would they have missed this obvious noise, that I may add I never heard before. Mechanics shops - killing me!
Maybe you should take it back and ask them to fix it
No
So if you're saying you never heard the noise until you got your car back and they didn't bring it to your attention then I'm guessing they didn't make any sharp turns when they took your car for its post-repair test drive. When they finish the repairs most test drives are only a few minutes long. Usually something equivalent to around the block. Obviously it should be looked into but you may want to take it to a different dealership. Even dealerships have been know to "create repair work."
You got burned.
- Took my car in to Honda to be serviced? They told me they'll call me with the diagnosis of the problems at 3 pm. They called me and told me that they ran into timing issues and asked if it would be alright to keep my car overnight. I said okay after they told me they wouldn't charge me extra to keep it overnight. That they will call me in the morning with the diagnosis. Would it be overkill if I call and ask for an update?
- 97 CBR 600 F3 shuts off every time I pull the clutch in? I have a 97 Honda Cbr 600 F3 that has been in the shop for 8 months every time I get it back the bike shuts off after 30 miles of riding it, it does this as soon as I pull in the clutch coming to a stop. That is until I lost compression in the motor and all but one cylinder stopped firing. Does anyone have any ideas as to what happened?
- Every time I stop to get gas in my 2003 Honda element, it has trouble starting? My car recently had a completely new engine put in and now when I get gas it takes a few tries to get it started. So I put a new battery in and now I have to put my foot on the gas pedal while starting it for it to start. But it's only when I stop to get gas this happens. Every time other than that it starts just fine, no problem at all. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on?
- Clunk every time I shift into reverse? I have a 2003 Acura RSX w/ 135000 miles. Every time I shift into reverse I hear a loud clunk I sometimes hear it but more faintly when it shifts to 2nd gear. The transmission shifts smoothly and I don't hear and grinding or any other abnormal sounds besides that clunk. What could the issue be? BTW honda/acura vehicles don't have ujoints since iv'e been told before it might be that.
