1990 honda civic hatchback won't start?

I have a 1990 Honda hatchback that's driving me nuts! Ok so this car was running and working good until the starter failed after I replaced it with a new one the car still wouldn't turn on I was thinking maybe I had got the wrong started since there's like two different types of starters for these cars but it wasn't that after not knowing what the problem was I found out the gas pump was the problem now. So me and a friend of mine who knows a few things on cars get to it and replace it. Once the pump was in its place we made sure to here the sound of the pump to know it was working but once everything was done and back in place I try to start it and Still nothing and now you can't even here the pump when I try to start the car so we replaced the relays under the dash bored and still nothing also this car had an alarm before but it's not in use and when I connect the wire it just starts going on can this be the thing that's keeping it from starting? Please help if you know anything on these cars it has me at the point of giving up and I can't even get it to a mechanic since it won't start.
Please&thanks!

Check the fuses and replace the ignition switch. Take a look at these two videos, it may help:

Don't forget to check the clutch switch at the clutch pedal for manual transmission or the Park/ Neutral switch if it's an automatic transmission. HTH

Edit: It's been days. Have you found out the cause?
