1997 Honda Civic having trouble starting? - 1
I have a 1997 Honda Civic automatic that is having trouble starting. I recently got a new car and unfortunately neglected my Civic. It has say for a month now and when I tried to start it today it would turnover but not start. I put some gas in it but it didn't change anything. It doesn't sound really rough or anything, it just won't start. This happened a couple years ago and when my mechanic came to look at it he did something under the hood, like pressing a choke or something, to help it start. I can't remember what he did and I have since moved too far to use him now. Does anyone have any ideas or know what it was he might have done to help it start?
You could try squirting a little starting fluid in the intake duct. When starting have the gas pedal halfway on. Or full on. Listen for the fuel pump when turning the key on before starting.
- Is trouble shooting a helmet lock the same as trouble shooting a key stuck in a door? I have a Honda VFR and the key is stuck in the helmet lock. Its all the way in and turned slightly but won't budge. I just need to know if i should try lube before i call a locksmith.
- Every time I stop to get gas in my 2003 Honda element, it has trouble starting? My car recently had a completely new engine put in and now when I get gas it takes a few tries to get it started. So I put a new battery in and now I have to put my foot on the gas pedal while starting it for it to start. But it's only when I stop to get gas this happens. Every time other than that it starts just fine, no problem at all. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on?
- Having a hard time starting my car. What could it be? I have a 2000 honda civic. I have an exhaust problem, and every morning when I go to turn it on its takes a while. I have to turn the key like 4 times before it actually starts up. At first it chokes up while trying to turn on… Any ideas as to what I can do?
- 2005 honda civic went from having heat only when you are driving to having no heat? Have replaced thermostat twice, replaced the water pump, the heater core and the low idle valve. The system has been flushed ever time. It's went from having heat when you moving to having no heat at all.
