2012 Honda Civic upgrades?
I have a stock 2012 Honda Civic EX. (2hgfg3b86ch521932)
I would like to change out some parts so I can get it going pretty quick. I was wondering what mods are best for this car? (I'm more into classic cars, that's why I'm asking) and is there anyway I can convert it to a SI without completely spending way too much?
Change the stock tires to a wider lower profile tires with new rims (or used rims). Put a nicer sounding exhaust. Stiffer shocks if you need it. Put a wood shift knob. That is all you need to do.
Short answer - you can't make it noticeably faster with any mods without spending a lot of money. The cheapest thing you can do is keep it tuned up, run higher octane fuel, keep the tires properly inflated and don't carry around extra weight. Even the weight of a full tank of gas slows you down.
Never put your vin on the internet… Someone can take that cut a key to your car and heck your ip addresses find out where you live and guess what. You don't have a 2012 Honda Civic anymore cause you just gave it away… I work at Honda we type your vin in and I can cut a key today
The only cheap thing you can do to get more power is a cat-back exhaust system and chip/reprogram the computer.
Don't bother with those after market CAI's. You motor came with a perfectly good CAI system from the factory. It's just plastic instead of shiny chrome.
- Upgrades to make a 86 Honda prelude faster? Hi, I have a 1986 Honda prelude, 1.8L dual carbourated, 5 speed, 170, xxx miles. I just did a tune up (Spark plugs, Oil, fuel filter.) this car runs really good, and is somewhat fast for being almost 30 years old. I want to do some simple upgrades on it to make it faster though. I have around $250 bucks and was wondering how far that could get me.

Specs: Engine: B20Z2 DOHC 2.0L 4Cyl Trans: Auto (4 speed I think) Drive: Real Time AWD Current HP: ~120 +/- 10 HP Goal: 300+ with turbo 200+ naturally aspirated Prefer naturally aspirated but the wife wants turbo. Either or will do though.
