Best Cars Under 15k?

I'm turning 16 soon and I have about 17k saved up. I have insurance and gas money planned out, so I will spend 15k or less on a car. I searched through YouTube, but they only recommended older sportier cars, but I want something more simple and newer. However, I'm not a big fan of Toyota camrys and Honda Civics, as I'm not a big fan of "family cars." (Also, my parents have both of them). I prefer something like the Chevy Malibu or Chrysler 200. Any suggestions for cars? I prefer something 2015 or newer.

Best is to look around where you live and where your friends are for someone you know who is selling a car. Not only is buying right from the person selling cheaper, but you get a real idea if the car has any problems. Also, two cars that have historically stood-up well is a Buick LaSabre ( or clone ) and the Mercury Grand Marquis. Neither are flashy, but neither are they abused by their original owners. Don't get anything rare or unusual, stay as 'main stream' as you can.

Start w/looking at the edmunds.com site where they have reviews, etc for almost any vehicle BUT… You will not be able to get any vehicle 2015 or newer w/only less than 17k… The insurance, registration, immediate repairs, and so on will be VERY expensive

Get a Chevy Tahoe.

Get a used beater car under $4000. Save the rest of the money for college and in case of an emergency.

Look at KIA or Hyundai models. They are both building very good cars. You should also be looking at Mazda, Nissan and Ford. The Malibu is a good car but it isn't as good as most of the cars it competes with in the midsize sedan market.

If you don't know (or care) anything about cars, get a Mazda 3 or 6 (or if you have no pride and don't want to get laid ever, a Toyota Corolla).

For the past 7 years, my sister has been driving a 2011 Nissan Versa. Brand new, they're pretty cheap, but won't have the greatest features. It's a good car though that can really hold up. It only broke down once and that was due to to much weight and overheating in the dessert. It has 80,000 miles as well. A good car with features is a Kia Rio. I'm looking at one of those myself, though I've never owned a Kia, but it looks nice.

You make no sense, first you say you don't want a family sedan and next sentence you want a family sedan, all models you mentioned are exactly the same type of car, what do you mean?

For 15k you can buy a brand new, unused car: If you want a sedan Hyundai Elantra. If you prefer a hatchback Chevrolet Sonic.

You say you're not a big fan of a Toyota or Honda but I promise you once you buy one, you'll love it. Besides any Asian car is better than American cars. Guarantee you that a Civic will last longer than a Malibu. If you don't like Hondas or Toyotas then get a Mazda, Acura, or a Kia. Any of those are more reliable than a Chevy or Chrysler
