Car saying Check Tire Pressure?
I have a 2015 Honda Civic SE that I just bought a few weeks ago. I know nothing about cars. My sister's boyfriend already aired up all the tires but the i light is still on and it's still saying "Check Tire Pressure". What is wrong?
You need to reset the alert. If the manual does tell you how, you can probably find out online, specific to make model and year
The main problem is that somebody too lazy to know how to check tire pressure is driving. Learn how to use a tire gauge, and if the pressure is good, have any tire store check out the pressure monitoring system.
Hi so go see a honda dealer as it has a fault.
First thing to do is exactly what it says. Check the pressures now, with a good pressure gauge, and make sure they're at whatever that car requires. If they are, you may need to reset the monitoring system or have it checked if that doesn't work.
Read the owners manual to find out if you need to manually turn the TPMS light out after filling the tires to the correct pressure. There's a chance the TPMS system lost it's programming and needs to be re-initialized. The sending units in the tires have batteries that can fail which also turns the light on.
Go to any tire retailer of have the tire PSI double checked. They'll do it free of charge. And have them show you how to do it yourself while you're at it.
If you have a spare, check the pressure in it as well. If that doesn't help, go to the dealer and have them check the monitors in each wheel. Those usually last more than 5 years and I'd ask for warranty coverage if one is bad. Those sensors are expensive. Drive around for about 20 minutes to see if the light goes out. If the light was always on find out if one of the monitors didn't get broken by a tire shop fixing a flat. I had to get TPMS checked and Big O tires did the check free with their computer. Mine were 7 years old and the batteries were very weak. Changing them all cost $400. It doesn't make the car drive any different, it's just an annoying light.
Before you waste a lot of time and money, make sure one of the tires doesn't have a leak. Check the pressure again.
You need to check the tire pressure.
- Dealer told me it was a Honda Certified pre-owned car, but I never received anything from Honda saying so? What should i do? The car now needs repairs and the dealer lied to me about the certification. Do I have any rights?
- Punctured tire replacement - can I replace only 1 tire - is it safe to replace the PUNCTURED tire only? My 2005 Honda Pilot rear left tire was punctured near the threshhold (ie - sidewall), but still usable. Thus the tire dealer patched it only. Should I replace that punctured tire only? Or should I replace the 2 tires on the same axle? Or even buy a whole set of 4 tires? I'm concerned about safety, and thus your best advice is very appreciated.
- Honda Shadow Aero, Recommended tire pressure? I have a 2007 Honda Shadow Aero 750, What is the recommended tire pressure for this? It shows I have 10 psi in the front which looks to be impossible. Because it is not flat or even close when parked and when sat on. (I'm 300 pounds, I think it would droop. And the back says I have 25. How much do I need?
