Car speakers 2019 Honda Civic Sport?
I just installed 2 aftermarket alpine 6.5" speakers in my front doors. The problem I'm having is that the audio was playing fine but at one point just killed all sound in the car. All the OEM speakers stopped as well. I can't for the life of me figure out why. When I pulled the door apart and checked the connections they worked but when I put the door back on everything was dead again. It will crackle and play every now and then but i don't know why they don't just work. Are they defective?
Sounds like they are getting shorted to me…
Maybe you can get a mechanic to help you with it
Seems that the wires going to the speakers may be shorted where they go through bulkheads- or the plugs on the stereo are loose.
A speaker does NOT become defective, it can only become damaged.
What are you using to wire the speakers? You should be using a high-quality 16 gauge OFC speaker wiring. Not a shorted wire you found out on the street if that's what you're using.
What impedance are the speakers wired to? They should be at 4 ohms matching the head unit's output or whatever the speakers are being powered by.
Are you using spacers/adapters to attach the new speakers? If not, what's probably happening is that the tinsel leads on the speakers are touching metal and shorting out the head unit. I've seen this in other Civics when people try to install new speakers without using a spacer. Look for Metra 82-7805.
- What's the best car stereo/speakers to get for this car? My husband has a 1993 Honda Prelude and I wanted to get him a great car stereo or speakers for Valentine's Day. But I don't even know where to start looking. I know someone who can install, but I just need the speakers.
- Are sport bikes a lot slower than super sport? I used to have a honda cbr250 but sold it to pay for college. I want to get another bike after I graduate. I was looking at the Honda Cbr500R and the Honda 600RR. Obviously the super sport has a 100cc bigger engine, but is it a lot faster than the 500R? Even more so than you would expect with the 100cc increase due to gear ratio's etc etc?
- I need help buying a new car! Honda HRV 2019? I'm not sure if I'm getting a good deal or getting ripped off. For a new Honda HRV EX 2019 AWD, they gave me these options. I'm a recent college graduate, my credit score is 700 & improving and I'm putting no down payment. Everyone is too busy to help shop at car dealerships with me so I'm asking the internet
- Will a side mirror from a 2018 Honda HR-V fit a 2019 Honda HR-V? My mirror was clipped while I was in the gym and I'm going to need to replace the passenger side mirror. Just want to make sure that if I buy a 2018 mirror that it will still fit my 2019 car
