Does it normally take this long to do these repairs?

I have a Honda Civic type r 2003 model. I recently took it in for it's MOT. It failed and needs new brake pipes, a track rod end and a front spring replaced. Aswell as a re-test. 11 days later and it's still in the garage. I tried to contact him on Saturday including his mobile number but could not get through.

Should be done the same day or at the latest the day after.

I'm guessing that your car is not the only one in the shop that needs attention. The mechanic probably had to order parts to replace the ones that failed the inspection and some of those parts are not sitting on a local warehouse shelf for your 16-year-old Honda. If you want to see your car done sooner, stop calling on the phone every 15 minutes and let the man do his work!

It all depends on the mechanic's availability of time to work on it. Clearly he is working on other autos at the same time, or waiting for parts.

Go to the shop and ask what the hold up is, face to face. If work has not begun at all, take your car somewhere else where they're skilled. You may get stuck with a diagnostic charge. They might be having trouble getting parts.

It's summer, perhaps the mechanic has gone on holiday.
Call at the garage during normal business hours and see what is going on. As the car was only booked in for a MOT perhaps there's a waiting list of vehicles needing to be fixed. Face to face contact is the only way forward.

The work is not to bad, but getting the parts can be a real pain. That is what you get for buying a Honda.

  • Ow long will it take for a '83 Honda XL250r engine to seize while just sitting? I'm rebuilding it and have the gas tank and air filter off right now. I won't be able to work on it for a few months and it's kept in my heated basement. How long will it take to seize up? And how to keep it from seizing up without stabilizer. How long will it take for a '83 Honda XL250r engine to seize while just sitting.
  • How long does it take for a mechanic to finish my dirtbike? About 3 weeks ago I brought my dirtbike to a Honda shop to get repaired. I payed 900 to get the clutche adjusted, valve replaced, oil change, breaks change, a full time up, and pretty much everything to make the dirtbike pretty much "brand new". It's been 3 weeks since it's been in the shop going on 4, and I'm starting to get VERY impatient. I'm just wondering how long it takes to do all of this?
  • How much will these repairs and maintenence cost on my integrs? I would like to know a estimate on how much getting my rear brakes both sides replaces all 4 new motor mounts replaced and a tune up from honda? Tune up as in oils changes and clutch bled like that. By the way my car is a 1997 gsr integra.
  • How long will it take me to learn to drive a gearless scooter? I know how to ride a bicycle and want to learn to drive Honda Activa, any idea as to how long it will take me to do the same?
