Engine stalling after hosing engine bay?
I'm very bummed, my engine ran perfectly fine with no problems as long as i've owned it, I just drove it yesterday. This morning for some stupid reason I listened to my dad and hosed down my whole engine bay after scrubbing it. I went to start it a few minutes later (I should have let it dry or not have soaked it in the first place) and it started puttering, as I let it run it got worst and worst to the point where it puttered so much the engine died out and now it won't start. The check engine light came on a few minutes after starting it, i've never seen that light on my car, now I'm so sad that I ****** up my car like a bafoon. Does anyone know what might have happened exactly, obviously water got into something but I want to know where, how, and the price/ difficulty of fixing it. 2000 honda civic dx
You probably got water inside the distributor. Best thing you can do is let it dry out. It's common on older Hondas with distributors.
- If I drop something into the engine bay, can I unscrew the bottom of the car to get it? I dropped something into the engine bay and can hear it landed onto the bottom. On the bottom of the car is a metal sheet. I can't squeeze under my car, but I can feel there are screws down there. Do you think I can unscrew one side of the metal sheet (the side closest to the front bumper), bend open the metal sheet slightly, and poke a stick into it to retrieve what I dropped? I have a 2017 Honda CR-V.
- Honda civic display not working after fitting an after market radio. How to fix? Hi, I have just fitted an aftermarket radio on my 2006 Honda civic and it doesn't allow you to connect the lead from the top display (one which shows radio station, Aircon) to the new radio so there's no power getting to it. Does anyone know if I can get a splitter or something to power the radio and the display?
- 2009 honda civic si stalling? I just bought this car about 2 months ago and it's been fine with air conditioning but up until a few days ago it's been stalling when the air conditionings on. Any ideas?
- Is the cleo bay honda holiday scratch-off a scam? I was sent a pretty legitimate looking paper in the mail with a key glued to it from cleo bay honda, and it had a sticker in the middle that you scratch off to reveal a number. If the number is one of the numbers listed at the bottom, you win one of the prizes. I won something according to the card, but I don't know if this holiday promotion is legit or not. Has any one else ever heard or won from it?
