First car options under 5.5k?

I'm 17 and going to be buying my first car in the next few months. My budget is only 5.5k but I can afford to pay monthly insurance of around $230. What are some first car options other than Honda Civic? I'm a responsible driver, but I feel like buying a 03 mustang for 5 grand is a bad idea.

I bought a pre-owned 2005 Hyndai Santa Fe SUV for about $5000 last year. I love it.
All wheel drive, smooth and fast, great gas mileage. Great car.

Buy the best import you can find for your money. Excluding things like Audi, BMW or Mercedes.

BAD, GET A TOYOTA CAMRY

An old Mustang is a bad idea. My son got a 2000 Accord for $1400. I recently bought an 04 Accord for $4300. The Civics I looked at were in bad shape in comparison. Check online and you will find a dozen or so websites in your area which are advertising. That's what I did before I found the right car. Don't buy an unreliable model, and try to find one that is clean and well maintained.

Probably better too go for a smaller less powerful car, a honda civic is good, or maybe a toyota corolla or similar

My son just bought a car from our local county auction it is 8 years old but he only paid 200o for it and it was very well maintained as it was A county car he got all oil change infor and it gets good mileage non smokers.

It hit under my car and dragged until I could pull over and pry it loose. I could not see too well under the car. I have a Honda Fit

  • Which car is better of these options? 2014 Mazda 3 2.0, 2014 Honda Civic LX sedan, 2014 Dodge Dart Rallye 2.4? I want a car in this category. I will commute to work so i want to save on gas and at the same time the car must have the best sporty look. Which of those is the best bang for the buck and why? Thank you! Other suggestions that are in that 18-22k price range are welcomed as long as they are not expensive like volkswagen since they are german.
