Honda Civic Eg Motor d16y6?
The engine is a d16y6. No i have not mistaken it but I heard they are only from new zealand. Do you guys know anything about this? I'm buying a 1995 Honda Civic Hatchback with a d16y6 engine
20 years old - are you sure you really want it?
There's no d16y6 in the d series of hondas. There's the y5 then y7 no y6! Looked it up on the wikipedia.
As far as I can see it's the same as a D16Y8, but with a slightly different cam profile. It was sold in the NZ market. The D16Y8 was changed to meet US emissions regs.
- If in the owners manual it says I should use 5W-20 motor oil, can I use 10W-40 motor oil instead? I have a 2009 Honda Fit. I just recently bought 10W-40 and when I got home to put oil in the manual said 5W-20. What's the difference? And is it okay if I still use the 10W-40?
- What would be the best motor swap for my 99 honda civic dx? Planning on doing a motor swap but wanna make sure I get it right the first time. Was planning on doing a b20z swap and order it from Hmotors. Would that be a good swap? If so i'm not sure of all the parts I would need.
- 98 Honda civic motor swap? Which motor would give the most horsepower that I could drop in a 98 Honda civic lx. If your a Honda hater don't answer with something stupid 105.456mi on car my goal is to turbo the new engine
- 2000 Honda Civic EX Coupe: I have had a new motor recently put in my car? However it seems that when I go certain speeds on the highway (60-70) my car vibrates. Once I pass this speed (75) then it stops vibrating as long as I drive at 75 mph. Does this mean I need a timing/alternator belt? Or due I need a tune up. I'm due my 200k service in about 6,000 miles.
