Honda civic with 188k miles?
Should I buy a 1995 civic with that many miles on it? I know maintenance is key but if I get it would everything start failing? It's 2,000
Nearly 20 years old - regardless of the miles it is a poor buy for even 200
What country are you in and what type of civic (fuel type? Engine size? Etc) - the cost of cars and the value of the car varies considerably depending on that info.
But generally, If you're in the UK and planning to spend £2000 I would say it sounds seriously over priced given the age and mileage.

I'm the original owner and have done a good job with oil changes etc. However, it needs 2 front control arms with ball joints and rear struts to pass inspection. I've also gone past my mileage on a second timing belt (first one done at 90K miles). Car body exterior and interior is in pretty good shape. Inside looks brand new. But repair cost at 1200 + timing belt ~500 =~1700 in repars. Is it time for a newer used auto.
