How much should my suspension cost me on my 1996 Honda civic?
I found an independent mechanic with a shop and I want to know around how much will a new suspension cost me? Tire rods, shocks, control arms struts bushing and w.e else a suspension consist of
Including labor, I'm thinking at least $2K for all of that.
Not sure it's even worth fixing if the car is not in good condition.
Depends on where you live. Your best bet is contacting the 5 closest mechanics to you and ask them all
Since you say you found an independent mechanic with a shop, get a price quote from him. Changing out the suspension on an 18 year old car (1996), is not a wise way to spend your money.
Lets say your car is worth $2,000 and spend $2,500 on the suspension then tour car is still worth $2,000. If someone crashes in to your car you will only get $2,000, a 96 is way too old to spend any money on.
- I have a 2002 Honda xr100r and I want to upgrade the suspension so I can hit bigger jumps. What should I get? I want more suspension than the dirt bike came with and I want to spend the least amount of money possible.
- How much should it cost to replace ignition? I own a honda prelude 1999, when i go to start it the dash lights turn on and the radio and i can turn the key which starts it but when i turn the key back to the position it would drive in the car shuts off. Also sometimes when i'm driving it stalls when it shouldn't. Do i need a new ignition or is it something else and if so how much would it cost in a mechanic shop to be fixed? And how much would it cost to just buy an ignition and do it myself?
- How much should it cost to clean a carburetor on a honda cb 360? I'm looking at a 76 cb360 and I found a Mmi mechanic that does work on the side. He said it would cost $150 to go through and clean the whole thing. Does that sound right? Or is that high for a backyard mechanic? Don't tell me to do it myself. I'm not mechanically inclined and don't want to deal with it.
- 1996 Honda civic has 220,000 miles. Should I get it? Neighbor wanted $ 1500 but needs cash fast, so he's currently at $ 1000. It's a daily commute for him, drives it every day. I'm going to test drive her tomorrow and have my mechanic uncle check it out, give me a diagnostic. I'm just asking, is it even worth wasting my time? Do these things last? How reliable are these things past 200,000 miles? Any additional info will help, thanks!
