How often does a timing chain need to be changed?
Honda civic 06 ex
With newer Honda's I believe 90 k
When it starts making noises like when the guides or tensioner goes out like greater than 180,000 miles
I didn't think Civics had chains. Look at your owner's manual.
More than likely a timing belt an if you plan on keeping the car 75,000 miles to be safe.
All engines in the North American 2006 Civics used timing chains. There will be a metal cover behind the serpentine belt, not plastic. If you keep up with scheduled oil changes the chain should last the life of the engine.

- How often should a car's AC compressor need to be replaced? We have a 2007 Honda CRV with 120,000 miles on it. The AC compressor system just failed. I feel like that's too soon for a 7 year old car. I've had cars for 10-15 years and never had that happen. How often should that happen?
