How to replacement an alternater belt on a 1990 honda civic?
I have a 1990 honda civic hatchback and i need to replace the timing belt. Can someone help me or point me in the correct direction please.
Is it the timing belt or the alternator? If it is the timing, have a mechanic do it. Alternator, it may be a serpentine belt, therefore, have a mechanic do it.

- How much should a timing belt replacement cost at a Honda dealership for a 2010 Honda Accord? Our car is in for some work where they already have the engine pulled. They said it would cost $750 to replace the timing belt (nearing 100k miles) since they already have the engine out, rather than the $1,200 if we brought it later to get it done. This seems really expensive to me. My wife spoke with them so I haven't been able to find out whether that is just for the timing belt, or if it is also water pump/other belts too.
- How much is a timing belt replacement for a Honda? I have a 1997 Honda Accord EX I went to a local auto repair shop and asked them how much for a timing belt replacement. He said around $400. Why so much? I have the timing belt, I just need someone to replace it. Is this normal? I haven't really shopped around since I just went yesterday. I have high miles on my car and I was informed I should get this replaced before it becomes a problem.
