Is it good to use prestone super flush in my radiator?
I buy a new engine in my honda civic 98 1 year ago. And a months later i find my radiator has some greasy or like milky something like that… And my mechanics check the head gasket and it was ok. No leak at all. But the grease in my radiator is still there.it maybe because the engine is surplus. My question is. It is good to use prestone super flush to get rid of that greasy thing? Is there any effect in my engine if i use that? Or is it good to just flush it with garden hose?
It is not bad to use prestone super flush? I mean no bad reaction to my engine or radiator? My radiator is almost brand new. Its dynamics aluminum radiator. If there anyone that can teach me the procedure of flushing a radiator using a prestone super flush?
Absolutely! Flush your radiator and then refill it with 50/50 premixed antifreeze. If the problem continues then it sounds like oil is leaking into your coolant. There may be a leak in the auxiliary oil cooler (bottom of radiator) and oil is leaking into your coolant that way.Worst case scenario is that you may need to replace the radiator.
- Tranny Flush, 3 or 9 quarts? I called Honda today and told them my tranny fluid was brown. They recommended that I do a 3 quart drain and fill to see how my car reacts to the new fluid. My mechanic who works for Honda recommends that I do a 9 quart drain and fill because Honda Transmissions won't take it as bad as other cars will. I don't know what I should do because I feel like everyone just wants to make a quick buck off of me.
- Is $800 a lot for a power steering flush? I went to my local mechanic, said it could use a flush due to my car being really hard to steer at times, and told me it would be $800 for a complete flush for my '03 Honda Pilot. Should I look somewhere else?
- If in the owners manual it says I should use 5W-20 motor oil, can I use 10W-40 motor oil instead? I have a 2009 Honda Fit. I just recently bought 10W-40 and when I got home to put oil in the manual said 5W-20. What's the difference? And is it okay if I still use the 10W-40?
