Jumping Rod Broken in Honda Civic 1984 Sedan, Help needed How to Open?

I have Honda Civic Sedan 1984 2days Before its Front Left Jumping ROD is broken I tried many mechnics but they are Unable to Open Jumping Rod. May u Kindly Help me and tell me that how to open Jumping Rod.

I think your problem might be that there's no such thing as a 'jumping rod'.

I've worked on cars for 40 years and have yet to know what a "jumping rod " is! You don't sound very smart dude!

To open jumping rod you must use a running wrench to open the hopping cover screw just below the wiggle joint on the rod jumper.

Once you do that, you use a slide screwdriver to adjust the hopping screw, or remove it totally if are replacing the jumping rod shaft. Just be certain the wiggle joint does not become misaligned. That would severely limit how much hop height the jump rod could achieve!

The jumping rod is all right, its the lose nut behind the steering wheel that causing all the problems. I'll have to assume you are a troll or at least hope you are smarter than this question.

I think you are talking about the strut. Any shop that does steering and suspension work should be able to do it; getting it all right after replacement is a job for a shop anyway.

  • Where do i get rod bearings for a 1997 Prelude SH? I have a 1997 Honda Prelude Type SH, however the 1997 had 50mm rod journals as opposed to the 1998-2001 which had 55mm journals. Everywhere I've gone to or called has told me the bearings from 1997 to 2001 are all the same, which is not true. I have proof of the old bearings in my hands. I've tried Napa, Autozone, Oriellys, Jegs. I even called ACL and Clevite/Mahle and they still all believe the bearings are the same. Where do I get bearings for this car of mine.
  • Rod knock or bad oil pump? On cold start car sounds like it knocks for about 2 seconds then goes away. It drives fine and idles fine. How do I test the oil pump or the pistons?
