Rod knock or bad oil pump?

On cold start car sounds like it knocks for about 2 seconds then goes away. It drives fine and idles fine. How do I test the oil pump or the pistons? No taking it to the mechanic I can't afford that. Kid, if you are no expert on these you need for a mechanic to check on it. Trust me, if it gets worse you'll have to pay even more. You have a precious engine at you hands. Take good care of it. It could be both of them. I don't think you need to check the pistons. To test the oil pump i suggest you start the car and turn it off in a bit. Check the dipstick. If you're dipstick has a low reading add as many oil is needed and start the car again to see if it got right (thr oil level) if it does not you're likely having a bad oil pump.

Everywhere I've gone to or called has told me the bearings from 1997 to 2001 are all the same, which is not true. I have proof of the old bearings in my hands. I've tried Napa, Autozone, Oriellys, Jegs. I even called ACL and Clevite/Mahle and they still all believe the bearings are the same. Where do I get bearings for this car of mine.

If anyone knows where I can get the OEM 1985 Honda CR 500 gear shaft, I would forever be grateful.
