Loud hissing noise coming from car?

I had been driving for 2 hours when I pulled over and stopped for a min. As I began driving again, I suddenly heard this loud hissing noise coming from the rear of the car. It sounded like a rice cooker when it's releasing air, if that makes any sense. I thought it may have been coming from the speakers at first but the stereo was off.

So any clues what it could be? I was going to take the car on a road trip but this is worrying me. It's a 2 year old Honda Civic btw.

Added (1). The hissing suddenly stopped after about 15 seconds. None of the tires are flat or leaking air.

My car - in certain conditions such as long highway drive, sometimes develops a vacuum or pressure in the gas tank. Gas caps aren't vented anymore and there all the emissions equipment that gathers vapors and recycles them… I've heard that hissing at the rear when pulling into a rest stop - - I turn the gas cap and it makes a big hiss like opening a can of coffee… Then is quiet.

The EVAP canister vent hoses are probably torn orthe vent valve is stuck open, unlikely since the car is new. Take it to the dealer and have them check the EVAP system.

  • We have a 2006 Honda CBR. When you drive it, there's a loud whirring noise coming the back underneath side. What could cause that noise? The noise is situated around a CV boot on the left underneath side where the differential connects to the middle.
  • Honda Magna VF700C Loud Noise? I have been having this issue with my bike that i just can't get an answer to. I have taken the bike to the mechanic but they would fix the wrong things and could never find what the problem is. My bike makes a loud clanking/grinding noise when the engine is cold but the clanking noise goes away when engine is warm. I have posted a video on youtube to let you see and hear the noise. Please let me know. Thank you.
  • 4 stroke 50cc scooter makes loud buzzing noise at 55 KPH and won't go over 60KPH? I have a fairly new 4 stroke 50cc Honda scooter. I recently put in a new CDI hoping to increase performance. It helped a little bit, but when I go over 55 KPH I start to hear a high pitched buzzing sound and the bike won't go past 60. Even on a flat surface. I'm not sure what the problem is. Does my bike have some kind of limiter? Is it the pulley or muffler? Or is 60 kph the fastest my bike will go?
  • Why does my car make a hissing sound? I have a cricket and a snake in my engine bay. My car has a hissing sound coming from the clutch. And a cricket-like sound also. It has a completely new clutch asseembly including a flywheel. My trans was grinding gears and went so I replaced it with new clutch and flywheel and the cricket sound came back and the hissing started. 1994 Honda Civic Manual 5speed
