Why does my car make a hissing sound?
I have a cricket and a snake in my engine bay.
My car has a hissing sound coming from the clutch.
And a cricket-like sound also. It has a completely new clutch asseembly including a flywheel. My trans was grinding gears and went so I replaced it with new clutch and flywheel and the cricket sound came back and the hissing started.

Pretty vague description, does putting your foot on the clutch make the sound go away?
Step on the clutch and see if it goes away. If it does, replace the clutch pivot bearing and inspect if your clutch is properly installed. If it does not, you have a tranny problem. Check your belts and accessory pulleys also.
When my foot is on the pedal the sound isn't there but when its in 1st gear and I start releasing the clutch its there. The car has a brand new master cylinder for the clutch and a brand new slave cylinder. Brand new throwout bearing and flywheel. The clutch assembly is new. And the trans is in great shape.
Go back to the place that did the clutch. Something not right.

- Hissing in cabin when AC is on? 2003 Honda Civic 1.7L D17A1. I just started noticing this recently, when the AC is on (or defog, which uses the compressor) I can hear a hissing noise in the cabin. I can't hear it in the engine bay. What are some things that could be causing this?
