My 1997 Honda Civic is leaking oil?
My car is leaking oil on to the splash shield and on to the ground. It is the front of the car and lined up with the rear main seal, what is the leak coming from?
Either a hose has a hole or the seals are done check them individually it may be time consuming but you will find the leak and will know what to replace
Just like you have a rear main seal in the back you have a seal in the front of the engine where the crankshaft exits. On the front of a crankshaft you usually have a harmonic vibration balancer, or some such thing, that your pulley attaches to that drives your serpentine belt. I would guess the seal on that is bad. That is about the only place I can think of that oil can be leaking from on the front of the engine unless your oil filter is leaking or it is not engine oil but transmission fluid, or power steering fluid.
- Why is my brand new Troy Bilt TB130 with a Honda engine leaking oil? I assembled the mower, added the oil as specified, checked the level, started it up, and mowed the yard. It worked well, however as I was nearing completion I noticed oil on the mower deck, on top of the filter (it was dry), the linkage, and everywhere. - Honda CR250R leaking black oil from exhaust pipe? My 2001 Honda CR250R 2-stroke motorcycle is leaking black tar-like oil out of the exhaust pipe. I have not payed much mind to it and its been happening for a while now. It not a constant leak but it will leak it out sometimes and my rear rim is filled with the black oil.
- Honda 1986 cr125 leaking oil? I traded an old car for this dirt bike and I've been riding it for a few months now and it's been leaking oil from a hole that is underneath the gas thing. I need to find out if that hole is supposed to be there or not and how to fix this. Thank you.
