Planning to get a turbo kit for my 2002 honda civic ex with 140k on it i go for it or leave it alone?

Is a 1250 dollar turbo kit from ebay. My friend is a mechanic so he would help me for cheap but is it really worth it? I already upgraded the exhaust and got a cold air intake. Also what other upgrades would i have to do if i go for it?

Installing a turbo to your car is a big step… Honestly, i wouldn't prefer doing it on a civic, since there's not much power to begin with. The civic is a front wheel drive, which is not really a normal choice for modifying… But, if you''re determined to do it and there really is no way of stopping you. Go ahead, but first of all, i suggest you replace the engine into a new one, so that it can withstand all the pressure from the turbo, plus it's probably beat up and needs a change anyway since your car is 13 years old… In general, you will be obliged to replace a series of major parts (radiator, gearbox, etc… Also, the whole thing is gonna cost you a fortune which is also one of the reasons i advise you to forget about it and buy a proper manual rwd, even if used. And pay just a bit more…

No, because that car is front wheel driven and with a turbo the wheels will spin and the car accelerate as fast as a snail.

  • Will mechanics change suspension bushings alone? I have worn out bushings on my 2001 honda crv suspension bushings. Is there any shops that help me replace only the worn out bushings? I like to keep the original suspension parts.
  • I'm planning to buy 2005 Honda CRV, with 140K miles on it, how much worth do you think? It looks in a clean condition. @Lan K, the vehicle looks clean, inside out, clean title, and timing belt and water pump has been changed. He was asking $7000, and Now he come down to $5,600.
  • Would this turbo kit blow my engine? I found a turbo kit online and thought it would be fine until someone told me that it would blow my engine. I have a 1995 honda del sol VTEC stock performance wise. Would this kit blow my engine? If so what else would I need? • Should I buy an '06 Honda Civic with over 140K miles? It has 143K miles but it appears to be in great condition. I'm of course going to get it checked out by a a mechanic, but Honda's especially the 8th generation are known to go over 250K miles, no? I only plan to own this car for a few years before getting something newer. I'll be using it for work and school. I don't really drive that many miles a year, less than 9,000. Also the car is priced at $4,700.
