Sub/Amp Setup on a 1998 Honda Civic?
Sub/Amp Setup on a 1998 Honda Civic?
Added (1). Well pretty much my situation is I have two Rockford Fosgate P1's that are 150rms each hooked up to a 250watt Rockford Fosgate Punch amp and trust me they hit pretty hard considering I have it in a bandpass as well. However I'm concerned about my lights dimming and I'm suspicious that the load may be too much on the battery and alternator. Is getting a gel cell battery and a new higher output alternator necessary? I live in Iowa and want my car to start in the winter, any suggestions?
There are a lot of suggestions regarding this light dimming issue.
I have heard that you need to do an upgrade on the major wires called the big three.
1) Alternator positive cable that runs to the positive terminal of the battery
2) Negative battery cable that runs from the battery to the vehicles chassis
3) Chassis grounding cable that runs to the engine block
Then you can either add another battery along with the high amp output alternator, or swap your battery with a higher capacity (amps) with the high amp output alternator.
I have also heard that you can try using Capacitors, but some so called experts don't agree with this.

- What else do I need as far as wiring for subs, head unit, and amp for 2002 Honda civic lx? I have a bass inferno 1500dx watt amp, with two 10 inch rockford fosgate punch p1 subs, and a pioneer FH-X700BT head unit that has bluetooth. I'm new to this is need to know what all wires are needed to be purchased so I'm able to install everything.
- Car subwoofer/amp problems? I have an RE 2000.1 amp and a Polk audio dxi 112 subwoofer in my 1991 Honda civic lx. When I first got the subwoofer(about 6 months ago) , the bass seemed much stronger than it is now. When I try to increase the gain or bass boost, the subwoofer it begins to play a slapping kind of noise. Also it plays the bass louder at first and then kind of lowers on sustained notes. My main question is if the amp, sub, or alternator in my car is going bad and/or how would I check this.
