Thinking of buying a 2019 honda civic coupe but i'm worried how reliable the cvt transmission is?
I want to buy a basic honda civic coupe. I want the 2 door because i think it looks cute. But i'm worried how relaible is that cvt transmssion? I want to last atleast 150k miles?
Honda CVT's are junk, do not buy it.
Honda has always gone its own way with transmissions; there are former owners out there who will tell you that they've done worse in years past.
CVTs require more maintenance than regular Torque Converter trannys. But those that have changed the fluid every 2 years, which sounds like a lot but it's not, have gotten 200K+ out of them. But since people don't think about transmissions until they act up, they have a high failure rate due to poor maintenance and ignorance. It doesn't help that the car manufacturers call for longer service schedules. It should cost less than $200 to service it, and $3K or more to replace it. My advice to anyone is Don't get a CVT if you don't want to Service it every 2 Years.
CVT transmissions suck but most economical imported cars have them.
Only advice is to have the vehicle's tranny serviced at the dealer so you have records of changing the ATF at 60,000 miles. That way you have a better chance of getting a customer goodwill warranty when the tranny goes bad.
- I need help buying a new car! Honda HRV 2019? I'm not sure if I'm getting a good deal or getting ripped off. For a new Honda HRV EX 2019 AWD, they gave me these options. I'm a recent college graduate, my credit score is 700 & improving and I'm putting no down payment. Everyone is too busy to help shop at car dealerships with me so I'm asking the internet
- Do you think CVT transmission is bad? I'm truly in love with the 2017 Honda CR-V except for the CVT. I've heard so many horror stories about it that I may buy another car because of it. So do you think CVT is bad or am I worried for nothing?
- Was thinking about buying a honda civic ep3 type r and was wondering what should I look out for? I would like some honest help Like when they start having problems Do any parts get stuffed because of **** owners When the engine starts to die What km should I look at
- Should I be worried about my car? Hi, i drive a honda civic 2000 hatchback, and i'm starting to notice that when ever i close the door the car shakes. Another thing is i can shake the car with just one hand with barely any force. Is this something i should worry about? All tires are 2 months old, just did an alignment like 2 months ago. Does every car shakes? Or eventually shakes?
