Do you think CVT transmission is bad?

I'm truly in love with the 2017 Honda CR-V except for the CVT. I've heard so many horror stories about it that I may buy another car because of it.

So do you think CVT is bad or am I worried for nothing?

Some manufacturers CVT's are better than others. Honda's aren't that bad road test the car and see if that's what's for you

I also have a CVT transmission, 2014 Accord, i did take it into consideration when I bought it. I think the V6, have a normal transmission. All we can do is put our faith in Honda, it's a quality product, that's why I bought it. Got rid of new Malibu with nothing but problems.

Depends on how hard you drive. If you think you have a race car then no, CVT is not the way to go. If you're a little old lady driving to church on Sundays - there's nothing wrong with a CVT. If you're somewhere in-between - you decide for yourself.

CVT uses a pusher belt, meaning there are many metal clips on a metal band, and the power output from the engine PUSHES the input to the drive shaft. In time that belt will stretch and the pusher clips will wear. The harder you drive the more / faster the wear.

I'm personally not a fan of CVTs. When you're replacing a bunch of gears with belts, you know that someone is cutting corners. You always have the option of adding a few extra gears to get better fuel economy. The current roster of CVTs shift more like regular automatic transmissions, but have yet to prove they are as reliable as conventional automatics.

You need to drive differently according to the transmission fitted to your car to get the best from it.
It is just a sign of a good driver dealing with their transmission. We have 3 different types of automatics at home. All need to be driven slightly differently to get the best from them.
The CVT should get the best economy possible.

No.
