What does the check engine light diagnoser mean by Vtech?

I drive a Honda Civic with a Vtech engine. The check engine light came on and a diagnosis was run.
it did read "Vtech" and no other issues were found.

There's more to it than that. Get it retested.

No, it really didn't. What was the code number?

What diagnostic tool do you use to diagnose it? You may need a better engine diagnostic tool like ecu tuning tool, find them from obd2life.com

Knowing these engines I'd be looking at the camchain.
'course that's pretty involved,
the timing cover has to be removed, easier said than done!
but once its off the cam tensioner gap is checked,
maximum is 16mm,
last one I did was 19-20mm,
well fecked!
Not a cheap job,
all because of a lack of scheduled oil changes!

THE VTEC IS THE TYPE OF ENGINE, VALVE TIMING ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED. THE ACTUAL CODE(S) IS(ARE) STILL THERE. PULL THOSE AND THEN WE CAN START.

The biggest problem with any motor that has adjustable cam timing is people don't change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles. Now you're going to get codes until you replace the cam actuator and solenoid!
