What octane of gas (87,89,91) to use for 2010 Honda Civic lx-s?
I own a 2010 Honda Civic and I've been using 89 octane from chevron. I want to start pumping at Costco gas but they only offer 87 octane or 91 premium. What gas is factory recommended for a 2010 Honda Civic lx-s 4 door sedan?
87. Only the Si models need high test.
87 is fine.
- Does 2010 Honda Pilot uses too much gas and is this safer? I'm trading my 2007 corolla for 2010 pilot, but my uncle said it uses too much gas and unsafe, is this true?
- I put 87 octane gas in my bike, can I use octane boost to correct the problems it's causing my bike? Last night I put 87 octane in my 2008 Honda Shadow 750. It started sputtering and stalled out on me twice last night. Can I use octane boost to make it run cleaner and better. Will that help fix the stalling problem as I have always run 93 octane and never had any problems?
- Accidentally put 89 octane instead of 87? I filled up my grandmas 2010 Honda Fit yesterday and I accidentally hit 89 octane instead of the regular 87 she puts in. Will this harm the engine? She does 100% city driving and has roughly 25,000kms on it if that helps. I should've said otherwise. It wasn't really accidental. The machine said "the grade selected is unavailable" so I pushed 89. Just clarifying.
- Why does my 2007 Honda Civic use so much gas? I bought this car from my dad, it has 135,000 miles, and it is guzzling gas. I went through a quarter of a tank by just driving around town when my dad uses much less than that to drive to work and back which is about 100 miles. It is well maintained, and i just don't know the problem. Do people still do tune ups, maybe that is what i need. I'm not sure someone please give me suggestions.
