When will Toyota finally stop making the Corolla?

The Chevy Cruze is an example of a failed car, but why did it fail? Chevy always insulted the Corolla and also the Honda Civic in its Cruze commercials but it seems that the Cruze is the one that fell through the cracks and straight to hell. The Corolla continues on to this day since 1968 and now we're seeing the 2020 Corolla. It just seems like there will be no end in sight to the Corolla, but why

If chevy cruz is the same pos as the holden cruz it's no wonder it failed look at thoose pos too long and something will break. What does one do to a Corolla apart from put fuel in it and service it once a year it does what people want with out eating all your money.

When it stops selling. It is not the same Corolla as the original nor the Toyota Nova/Geo Prism or even the Corolla of ten years ago.
The Cruze is a failure in my case because it costs a lot and had no chance of making it to 200,000 miles without spending more than the car was worth.

Corolla is a marketing term that people associate with a particular type of car. So Toyota are unlikely to retire the name even if the cars themselves are often totally new and nothing to do with the previous models. Chev attacked Corolla because of its reputation and as it is the market leader in the segment, sadly Cruze was underdeveloped, made or poor quality materials and poorly put together; the trifecta of poor reliability.

Even when GM was building Corollas side by side with Toyota at NUMMI in Fremont, Ca., and sticking Chevy badges on them, they still failed to learn how to build as good a car. Yes the Cruze is a POS, maybe a little better than the Cobalt. The Corolla is one of the most popular and dependable cars built in the world, regardless of who doesn't like how it looks or greater fuel range per tank ( larger fuel tank) other cars may offer.

Just because the name goes on, does not mean the cars are the same.

When they start losing money on it's production and sales. Market demand and it's established reputation will get customers, will be profitable and market share is something Japanese companies strive for. Look at Jeep for 'OLD' name still being a market benefit.

When people stop buying them
