Why is my CEL flashing? 1998 Honda Civic LX (4dr) w/ a 1.6L engine?
I recently got a 1998 Civic LX. I've been having problems with it for awhile. When I first got it, I changed the fuel filter on it and was planning on doing a full tune-up, but never got around to it. Later on, I had an oil change done, and changed the MAP sensor (the one behind the engine, under the air filter), and just last night I had finished the tune-up.
I had kept thinking I needed to change the fuel pump, because it would spit and spudder, and it would like to not go anywhere, but after talking to a friend of mine who's a mechanic, he said it's most likely the TPS sensor, so last night I had changed the TPS sensor, changed all the spark plugs and spark plug wires, and changed the distributor cap. I also had the check engine light put onto a computer, and it said the Cadillac Converter was N/A, but the car ran fine. This morning, I turn the car on, and it's spitting and spuddering again (very badly, probably the worst it's been) and I drive it about half a block, and the check engine light starts flashing, and the engine was running very badly, and wanting to shut off.
Could I possibly had the firing order wrong? Or possibly done something wrong with the spark plugs?
Extra Info: The car is at a family member's house atm, so not able to use a CPU to check codes

Extra Info: The car is at a family member's house atm, so not able to use a CPU to check codes you need to have an auto shop attache an OBD code reader and see what codes are causing the CEL to be lit, then go to an online site ( obd-codes ) and see what is causing the codes + what repairs need to be made… Right now you are just guessing and throwing away $$ can't help without the codes. Could be anything. We would just be guessing Check engine means check engine. Get an OBD2 code reader and use it. The trouble codes it displays indicate the malfunctions. Without the codes you know nothing besides the light came on. Car part stores will do code checks for you and you better write the codes down. They are exact and specific, for example; P0301, means spark plug number one is misfiring. That's the only code I know, though- you have to look them up in the definition list, unless the code reader is very fancy and expensive and tells definitions matched with the trouble codes. My code reader costed me $25 and came with a definition list on CD.

- Honda b18 CEL on and revs bounce? I was in the middle of changing my fan switch when Autozone gave me the wrong one. I broke the original I had during the process and decided to just put it back in with the plastic broken, add some radiator fluid, and call it a day. When I turned the car on it took a few seconds, and after it started the CEL light is on and the revs bounce by about 300? What's the issue?
- Can a 16.L engine fit into a 1998 Honda Civic LX? (before doing engine swap)? I had an blown motor on my 1998 Honda Civic LX, I have new spark plugs, distributor cap and some other items, however, since the old spark plugs happened to be melted as well, I have no option other to do a engine swap. I've been doing some research, and it seems like I only have the 1.6L engine as a option. By the way, the blown motor is a D16Y8, and is automatic.
- What can be the best way to fix CEL? I have a honda civic 2005 automatic. I'm trying to fix it to pass the smog test but the CEL comes on. I took it to Autozone to see what code it is. It turned out to be P0741. I looked it up and it has to do with torque converter. Now, a friend offered to take my car to his mechanic and the guy said it has to replace 3 sensors. I don't know what to believe. The car works perfectly fine.
