Why isn't my 1995 Honda Civic starting?
I have a 95 Honda Civic that only starts SOMETIMES. I noticed there's a subtle clicking noise that NEEDS TO HAPPEN before I turn the car on and it does this inconsistently. It's not the battery since I just replaced it. In order for me to turn the car on I have to turn the key back and forth until that clicking noise happens then it turns on. What is it?
The clicking sound is the solenoid not getting enough power from the battery. That said, if the battery is indeed new and good you have a bad connection somewhere. First I would remove and clean the battery contacts to the battery the carefully make sure the connections are tight.
Another possibility is that the starter is worn out and needs to be replaced… If you are able to remove the starter, an auto parts store will check it for free

The battery was bad so I had to use a bigger battery from my dad's motorcycle and it would crank stron but still nothing. We took out the spark plug and put it in the wire and held it near frame and no spark at all while cranking, could it be a bad ignition coil, rectifier, or stator or what?
