Honda CR-V EX or Mazda 3 Sport Hatchback?

Both have no accidents, both had 2 previous owners.

Honda: List price $5,000 w/ 138 k miles

Mazda: List price $5,995 w/ 102k miles

I know the cr-v s are known to last forever but since it's already 16 years old, would it be a better choice to get a slightly new car?

Get the Mazda 3. ASK if the timing belt (if it has one) has been replaced. Get a receipt for it.

The miles are more important than the age at that age. And Mazda is pretty reliable also. My bet is that the Mazda is more comfortable but gets worse mileage.

A 2002 Honda CR-V EX with 138000 miles on it in "clean" condition is worth about $2700.
Unless you are going to walk away with it for 45% off… Don't touch it.

You don't tell us the year or model of the Mazda, but if you are going to be equally ripped off… Walk away from it too.

  • Are sport bikes a lot slower than super sport? I used to have a honda cbr250 but sold it to pay for college. I want to get another bike after I graduate. I was looking at the Honda Cbr500R and the Honda 600RR. Obviously the super sport has a 100cc bigger engine, but is it a lot faster than the 500R? Even more so than you would expect with the 100cc increase due to gear ratio's etc etc?
  • Mazda reliability? Particularly 2013 mazda 3? I'm in the market for a new car and I was looking between 2013 Toyota corolla which is just boring and doesn't have as much features compared to Honda, or mazda. The Mazda 3 is at a good price 1000 dollars cheaper then the Toyota. So my question is, is Mazda reliable for that generation, or should I stick with a very well known reliable car maker?
  • Honda Hatchback EX or Sport Touring? The only thing I like about the Touring is the body kit, dual exhaust, and bigger wheels. I could care less about the navi, auto dimming mirrors etc. But cost wise, would it be better to get the touring rather than upgrading the EX?
