My car is making a knocking noise?
I'm by no means a mechanic or am I really car savy at all so I'm looking some advice on what this could possibly be.
I recently bought a 2005 Honda CRV with 107k miles on it. I noticed recently that when I give the car a lot of gas while at a dead stop I hear a knocking noise that seems to be coming from the front end underneath the car. The knocking stops once I'm done accelerating. The knocking DOES NOT occur when I'm sitting idle or if I rev the engine while in park. If I do not give it a lot of gas while at a dead stop the knocking does not happen. It only occurs when at a dead stop.
Any advice or input on what this could be?
Most likely slop in the timing chain or worn tensioners and guides
with no load on the engine the slop appears, just drive it -- Hondas last forever
- My car won't move in any gear under its own power but rolls in park while making a grinding noise I drive a 08 Honda Civic LX automatic. Yesterday I tried to take off from a stop and heard a loud metal snapping sound followed by loud grinding. Then it wouldn t move under its own power in any gear even reverse. It starts just fine, even idles as if nothing s wrong, will rev too. I have to have the emergency brake on because it rolls in park. In park it also makes grinding noises.
- My car suddenly making lawn mower noise? I drive my car everyday, at least an hour, maybe accelerate more than I should. I was driving and then stopped, had my car sit in one place for a few minutes turned it off then turned my car on a little bit after and now when you accelerate it sounds like a lawn mower or small semi, even at 20 mph. It seems to be coming from the left side of the motor around where you can check the oil. I have a 2006 Honda Civic.

But now, 3 days later, its making a weird noise when I turn. Wondering what it could be?
- Why is the 525i 01 making a jump noise in transmission when i reduce speed? I have a honda accord i'm pretty sure its an 05 accord and it keeps making a jumping noise when i reduce speed and it feels as if something is hitting on my transmission. What could the problem be. My maf sensor is unplugged and i was wondering if maybe it would be that. But imjust not sure.
