Should I buy a salvage rebuilt 1998 Honda CR-V for 2,900 with 122,000 milage?

A salvage title will most definitely make a car worth way less than one that has not been rebuilt. This car has a retail value of around $4,200 if it had never been wrecked. Around $2,900 is not far off what the car is worth now. But it really depends on how badly it was wrecked, & who rebuilt the vehicle. Did they use OEM parts or aftermarket parts? I would want to see photos of the car before it was repaired to see what was the extent of the damage. I have in the past bought salvage title cars but I have always seen how badly they were damaged.

No, No NO! Salvage cars are bad cars at any price.

NOPE, salvage cars are unsafe, uninsurable and you can't get a loan for one either.

Run far away from it. They are never fixed to the factory specs. Always future issues with them.

Have it fully checked out by a professional who will be able to give you a written report. The only downside is that it will be endorsed on your vehicle registration document.

A salvage title will reduce the value of a car by nearly 50% so go to kbb.com find the value of the car and offer half that amount.

Probably not. A '98 CR-V with 122k miles WITHOUT a salvage title is only worth about the same.

Yes. Go get it. IF it runs well. Have it checked by a mechanic, and if it runs well, buy it. A salvaged title will not hurt that cars value.
