Daily driver/track car first car?

I'm 17 and my parents are looking at getting me my first car. I plan on going to autocross events and maybe some nearby tracks but nothing really competitive, just want it to be fast to have fun. My budget is around $6500, my parents will pay that, so ill have my own money to do any necessary upgrades to be allowed to drive on a track and such.

My father's requirements

-no older than 2008
-back seats
-reliable

My requirements:

-awd or rwd
-sports car (preferably 2 door but 4 is fine)
-fast, so like a v6 or v4 turbo,
-stick shift

SO. Please help me pick out a car model. The brand inst that necessary i just need some source of reviews that proves the car reliability because my dad seems to think that Honda and Toyota are the only reliable car brand and every other car is **** and breaks down.

so far i've looked at the 2010 Hyundai genesis, found both the v4t and v6 version for 6500, any thoughts on that?

I typed a lot, any help is greatly appreciated.

If you can find a car with a V4 turbo, I'll buy you lunch.

You know the insurance for any car that's "fast" will scare the pants off you.

Oh dear. You know so little about cars. No one has made a V4 for years. I do not think there was ever a V4 turbo made.
Ford and SAAB made V4 engines back in the 1960's and 1970's

You should be able to get a tidy RX8 for $6500

Mazda Miata Club Roadster!
Cheaper to insure then a Honda Civic in most cases.
The most proven Track Day car out there and Spec Miata racing is a great avenue to get into racing.
Nothing else comes close unless you are prepared to spend twice the amount of money that a Miata costs.
Mazda has a great "driver promotion" program.
There's no other way to go when it comes to having a race-able daily driver.

  • Is the Type R a good daily driver? My Honda dealer was offering a new 2019 Type R for about $36 000. He says if you drive it economically it can save gas, but there's also a sport/type r mode if you want to have fun. He says it has a 4 cylinder turbo engine. then my Nissan dealer was saying how I should get a Maxima instead. It is roomy, luxurious with a CVT, V6 producing 300 horsepower. It does use a little more gas than the Type R.

  • Is 2004 Hyundai Sonata V6 too much for first time teenage driver? I recently bought 2004 Hyundai Sonata for $3000 (with my money that I earned by working at little caesars) It is my first car and is my first year driving (yes, I did all driver's training and such). All my friends have small cars like Toyota Corolla, VW Jetta, and Honda Civics. I'm aware that my car eats much more cars than my friends cars. Is my car way too much for me to handle? Should I sell my car and get a different one?
  • How much would an off track rear driver window cost to fix? My boyfriend bought a new 1994 honda civic and his driver back seat window is off track and i would love to have it fixed for his Christmas present.
