1997 Civic DX D16Y7 swap to B18B1?
So I have a 1997 Civic DX with the stock D16Y7 engine still in it. Only reason I'm thinking about doing the swap is because my transmission is almost out engine is misfiring and my catalytic converter is bad so fixing all those problems one by one will probably run me as much as this swap. So I read that a b18b1 (non vtec) is a direct fit on my Honda. But I honestly want to know what I should get in regards of cables harnesses motor/trans mounts etc. I just wanna know as much as possible regarding this swap thank you. And last will a 2001 Integra gs b18b1 fit my 1997 Civic DX thank you.
Hi so thi sis not going to work mainly because of the engine management systems are designed to work with only on engine. You can't just swap them out or over any longer. These ideas are throw back from the 1950's and 1960's. No longer is it possible to do such transplants.

- What would be the best motor swap for my 99 honda civic dx? Planning on doing a motor swap but wanna make sure I get it right the first time. Was planning on doing a b20z swap and order it from Hmotors. Would that be a good swap? If so i'm not sure of all the parts I would need.
- What engines can I directly swap my D16y8 Honda motor for? It has to be more powerful and easy to swap? I have a civic with a d16y8 and its served me well but what motor could I easily swap in? I want to use the same gearbox but I don't mind swaping the ECU. The easier the swap and the more HP the better. Would prefer to use the stock manifold and intake etc.
