Will a 2 exhaust header fit a 2.25 downpipe?
I drive a 2001 honda civic sedan model DX. D17A1 engine. I'm looking to get aftermarket headers and an exhaust system. The exhaust system I want has 2.25" piping, But I can't find any headers that match that piping diameter that will fit my model. I need help from someone with more experience to know if the downpipe and header need to have the same diameter piping or if the gaskets will fit despite different sizes. Any help is greatly appreciated!
You need an adapter for it to fit, if it is the standard exhaust manifold and the 2.25" exhaust is from a good quality manufacturer it will come with an adapter.
Remember you will not get any power gain as the manifold will be restricting flow.

- What type of exhaust gasket should I use when fitting new exhaust? I would like to install new exhaust system on my car and was wondering if I use the flat oval shape gasket or round conical gasket or both? I'll be installing a backbox and centre pipe. It's a 1998 Honda Civic.
