Honda HR215 lawn mower won't start?

I'm running my mower just fine when it starts sputtering and dies. I check the fuel, its empty so I top it off. I start cranking it and keep cranking it as I know fuel has to work its way thru the lines. At best it runs for maybe a second or two and dies. No the fuel valve is not off. Possibly the float is sticking… Try tapping on the float bowl and try starting. Could also be dirt or grit from empty fuel tank drawn into carb bowl and clogging the bowl fuel inlet into carb… Remove bowl and clean any dirt in it. Spray carb cleaner into any internal passages to flush out dirt or grit. Always use a fine mesh strainer when adding fuel to gas tank to keep out small bits of debris which can clog fuel passages in the carb.

  • Who makes better lawn mowers Toro or Husqvarna? Who makes better push lawn mowers? I'm looking at the Toro model 20333 and a Husqvarna AWD model. Both have 190cc engines, but Toro would have a Briggs and Stratton motor and Husqvarna would have a Honda motor. Who makes better mowers? Should I go by engine brand or mower brand?
  • New lawn mower pull cord will not pull out fully? Today we purchased a Troy-bolt TB130 160cc Honda engine push mower with an auto joke system. When we went to pull the start pull cord all it does it give a little slack and then completely locks up. If we slowly pull it wait for it to lock give a little back and slowly pull again more come out. What are wee doing wrong?
  • My 1983 Honda nighthawk 650 won't start with the electric start? I recently replaced the ignition coils because the old ones were getting heat soaked and the bike would die, however now the bike won't start with the electric start it turns over fin and the starter sounds fine but it won't start occasionally it ll start when it's cold or try to but I've been having to bump start it in order to ride it. So what's making it do this? Could it be the kill switch? Or something else?
  • I have a Honda HRX217 push mower. Backfired when trying to start it, now it won't start? It was running, then I shut it off to open and close a gate, and when I went to start it again there was a really loud backfire and now it won't start. It will sound like it's almost about to start but not. Then get progressively weaker each pull. I changed the spark plug and cleaned the air filter. Any ideas?
