Honda Rebel makes clicking/grinding noise when shifted into gear
I was driving it just fine until my rpms went high and it rolled to a stop. Could not get it to move. When I shift into first it makes a grinding noise and it won't even stall if I use the clutch incorrectly. Anyone know what it is?
It sounds like your clutch isn't disengaging. How much "freeplay" do you have on the clutch lever on the handlebars? It may just need adjusting.
Adjust clutch free play. No joy, check for bad clutch springs.
- Why does my quad make a grinding noise? Just recently i noticed that my 1990 honda fourtrax 200 rwd was making a grinding noise in the rear. The grinding noise only happens when i turn right. I think it might be the differential but i just wanted some advice on what it might be or what i should do.
- Should I get an 87 Honda rebel for 1500 or a 15 Honda rebel for 4100? Both will have same insurance rate. I know the older one will have more problems to fix but is cheaper up front while the newer one cost more now but will have less problems in the future. Also in case you are wondering the 87 is a 450cc and the 15 is a 234cc.
- Why does my car make a clicking noise when I start it? I have a 1997 Honda Civic Hatchback with a D16Y8 and it makes a clicking noise when i start it but then it goes away. What could it be? Is my engine blown? I checked the dipstick and it has a good amount of oil. Car is not throwing smoking or leaking oil. I'm scared my engine is blown…
- My car won't move in any gear under its own power but rolls in park while making a grinding noise I drive a 08 Honda Civic LX automatic. Yesterday I tried to take off from a stop and heard a loud metal snapping sound followed by loud grinding. Then it wouldn t move under its own power in any gear even reverse. It starts just fine, even idles as if nothing s wrong, will rev too. I have to have the emergency brake on because it rolls in park. In park it also makes grinding noises.
