Honda saying the problem is burned out headlights but if I juggle the wire the headlight comes back on?
Headlights going on and off for 8 months, sometimes the left one, sometimes the right one. They always go out and come back on.
All the guys at Honda keep saying is your headlights are burned out. But I giggled the wire last week and got them to come back on. But they keep cutting me off mid-sentence and saying "SIR! I TOLD YOU THE HEADLIGHT ARE BURNED OUT. TAKE THE DIAGNOSIS OR LEAVE IT, BUT EITHER Way YOU STILL OWN US $115 FOR THE DIAGNOSIS FEE."
Customer service in American is dead and I'm sick of it!
Whilst it could be that you have a faulty earth connection or shorting wire somewhere, they may be telling you that the connector on the headlights themselves has burned out or maybe broken or corroded away.
If this is a on a nearly new car then let them put the new headlights on and you confirm that they work before you take the car back.
If it was me dealing with an awkward garage like that I would say that I'm not prepared to pay anything until the problem is fixed completely; then if it is wiring causing the problem they'll need to fix it.
A smaller backstreet garage would be much better for a problem like this.
Have you replaced the bulbs yet? Seem to me that would be the final answer in your quest - if it still is an issue take it back with the receipt for the bulbs and request your money back for the diagnosis since it was wrong. Sometimes a complete diagnosis requires multiple tests after one is fixed - it is not always cut and dry as it seems - they diagnosed as far as they could - prove them wrong.
If they keep changing the headlights and if you jiggle the wire and it comes on. CHANGE THE CONNECTORS first. Its shorting out it's either that or the wiring but chances are that it is the connectors. I have seen that before
Ok ok
I had the same problem with one headlight on a Honda years ago. Replacing the headlight lamp did, in fact take care of the problem. Do yourself a favor, and use genuine Honda parts.
NEVER go to a mechanic or dealer that charges you a "diagnosis fee". That should be free! Hopefully they didn't tell you about that upfront. If they did (and especially if you signed something, which I assume you did), you owe them the money.
- Dealer told me it was a Honda Certified pre-owned car, but I never received anything from Honda saying so? What should i do? The car now needs repairs and the dealer lied to me about the certification. Do I have any rights?
- If i make a wire harness will it work with out pulse generator and icu on 85 1100 honda shadow? If i just make direct line from stator to rectifier to starter selonoid and coils will it be fine with out the pulse generator and the 2 icm/icu? I want to eliminate a bunchof stuff on it and i was wondering if that could go as well. It was a mess when i bought it i will figure it out if it must stay but i just need to know if it can go because it will be less of a headache if i can keep it going with out it.
- How do I wire a Baja designs speedometer back light on my 2001 honda xr250r? Got 01 Honda xr250r it has a Baja designs kit on it. I just got the Baja designs universal speedometer and it has a two wire bulb socket for the backlight display one power red wire and ground black wire? I will be using quick splice wire connectors so I was wondering which wire do I splice so the bulb in the speedometer will turn on the same time with the running lamp in the headlight?
- Right Headlight went out. I replaced both with 6k hid lights. Hid kit components are all brand new. Right headlight still didn't turn on? It's 91 Honda Civic sedan. Every other light works except that one headlight that isn't turning on as if it wasn't getting any current or something. High beams don't turn it on either.
