How to use the carb heater on a 2002 honda rancher 350?

I know i have a carboretor heater, but how do i use it?

It is automatically on and is there to stop the fuel from freezing the jets up on cold mornings. You do not need to do anything.

When stuff, like gasoline, evaporates it cools because of that heat of vaporization stuff you learned about in school, dude. There's also low pressure in the carburetor because of engine vacuum and Bernoulli's Principle, dude. If you refer to the triple-point diagram (Google same) for water, dude, you will see that at lower pressures water freezes more easily (at temperatures above 32 degrees), dude. This causes the water vapor in the air to condense and ice to build up and block carbs, dude. On most motorcycles the carbs are behind the cylinder heads, which pretty much keeps 'em toasty. On cars they are above the engine where they stay pretty warm. But aircraft and other engines that need it can have carb heat. Glad to help, dude.

Hi, I have a rancher 02 350 , my question is, does the carb heater stay on all the time or does it have some kind of a time switch to turn it off in different temperatures.
