Best guess is that it isn't getting enough fuel, why it back-fires.
Clean the carb, especially the pilot jet and if it has aftermarket exhaust think about a larger main jet.
Install a brand new spark plug.
Dirty plugs will spark outside of the engine, but not under compression.
Check the air filter.
Clean or replace as necessary.
Bent valve, sticking valve, or valve gap. If the other is for sure correct. Easy one to check is valve gap. Which reminds me I gotta check my yz250f valves.
- 2004 Honda Pilot Cranks but won't start if I press the gas when starting it starts.Engine lights is off,? Maintenance required is on but when I reset the lights turned off and everything works for now? What would be the problem? 1. I'm thinking it is the Timing belts slips 2. Relay maybe lose 3. Crank position sensor lose What would be the reason trying to get opinion and will look into it whatever is the best possible problem.
- I put 87 octane gas in my bike, can I use octane boost to correct the problems it's causing my bike? Last night I put 87 octane in my 2008 Honda Shadow 750. It started sputtering and stalled out on me twice last night. Can I use octane boost to make it run cleaner and better. Will that help fix the stalling problem as I have always run 93 octane and never had any problems?
- Correct Oil sight window correct level on motorcycle? I have a Honda cbr600rr 2014 and I use hp4s oil 3 quarters. I changed my oil for the first time this spring and I never checked the oil after the first two days for leaks and so on and today I saw through the window that the oil is in the middle and was all the way on the top. No leaks no bad color no nothing. Am I burning oil or am I low. I will attach a picture. Thank you
- I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect? I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect. I did a compressin test, the pull start only gets the mower to 60psi but the drill gets the mower to 150psi. This mower does have a decompression vale where the ehaust opest about 1/8 of the way. I tore the ead off and checked and cleaned the valves. They don't stick open. Could there be an issue with the decompression valve? Or would it be the piston rings?
