I need advice of driving up and down mountains for the first time?
So I'm going on a tip to big bear this Friday and i need a little advice because it's my first time. I'm think of either taking a new 2014 hybrid honda insight or a 2006 Nissan Altima. My Nissan. Front brakes have been changed almost two weeks ago but I didn't change the backs. I'm not even sure if the hybrid can go up te mountains. So can someone please give me any help?
Use lower gears, stay off the brakes as much as possible, stay to the right of the center line (sometimes hard to do on tight curves), and keep all 4 wheels on the pavement.
- Buying my first car and want to choose the right car I need something with a lot of room and thats safe? I've been looking at the honda crv, kia sorento, chevy traverse/equinox, acura mdx/rdx, nissan maxima and buick enclave. I really want something thats going to last atleast (6-8) years without having to replace the transmission or engine I want something very reliable and i'm willing to pay more for something that will last than having to replace major parts in a short time thanks for your help!
- Why does my car engine rev up and down? It revs up and down all the way up to 3x rpm and down? Also when i step on the gas pedal it revs up all the way to the top 8x rpm and stays right there even when i let go of the gas pedal. Please anyone who can tell me why this happens? This is a 1995 honda civic by the way
- My 2001 Honda Civic temp guage goes up and down. When am driving it's fine but when is it rises. What's the problem? I have change radiator, thermostats, gasket, radiator cap and still didn't fix the problem. What else could be the problem.
- Taking my car into the shop for the first time (my first car and first time at a shop)? Recently acquired a 1999 Honda Accord for $1500 with only 160k. Runs great but my dad checked car and said oil is low and then proceeded to check the rest of the car and said all my fluids need to be replaced. What does that mean and what is the price for fixing this? I want to go to the shop with some sort of understanding of the prices so I know if I'm being ripped off or not.
