Is a 2008 Nissan Altima a good first car?

As a high school student, I'm wondering if a 2008 Nissan Altima is a good first car. Are they reliable like Hondas?

Nissans can be more problematic than a Honda. Avoid it if it has the Jatco CVT transmission. Those things should never have got off the drawing board.

Niss altima 2008 is a good first car plus its easier to maintain then a honda, and trust me i have gone through alot with hondas

Personally I don't think they are as reliable as a Honda, but you will probably pay more for a Honda

  • Looking to buy a 2002 Nissan Altima is reliable? This would be my first car I'm buying I've been saving up for a while so I went to a Honda dealership and they had the 2002 Altima for $5995 it comes with a 12,000 mile warranty and 2 years free service, and a free tire rotation it has 98k miles on it I want to know is this a good deal or should I avoid it?
  • I just bought a 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5s with 160,000 miles on it? I just bought this car two days ago, it looks and drives perfect. I know that is a lot of miles but as long as the rental company kept up with maintenance it should have many more miles on it. Can I put another 50k-100k more miles on it in the future? Are Nissan Altima's up to par with Honda/Toyota?
  • Nissan Altima (2015) vs Toyota Camry (2014.5) vs Nissan Sentra (2015). Which is best ride on the market now? I'm looking to buy a new car 0.0% financing and these are the only companies that offer 0.0% financing on new and old cars. ( i know honda civic is great but they offer 0.9% finance). I want a car that is a smooth ride, fuel effecient and car that will last me a long time. Overall, a good car. These are my top three cars NISSAN ALTIMA, TOYOTA CAMRY and NISSAN SENTRA? which one do you guys think is the best? i'm open to suggestions…
  • Can a 2015 honda civic keep up with a nissan altima? Lets say both drivers where two on the freeway, one guy driving a 2015 honda civic and the other one driving a 1998 altima. The driver of the 1998 altima is speeding around 100-105 mph @3500 rpms only. My question is could a honda civic keep up with the old altimas performance? I'm asking bc since the civic isn't in the same class as the altima, i'm wondering how the new civic would do aganisnt the old altima. The altima itself in great mechanical condtion.
